In this regard Lil Nas X and his protean talent are being noticed more and more as he puts an indelible stamp on his music, while serving notice to the Black community regarding Black male sexuality. But those that separate the wheat from the chaff are always inescapeable of notice. One of the advantages of having lived a long life is that a sufficient number of years have passed that allow one tolook back on them and see the past repeating itself in popular music in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. But there is something about Lil Nas X that I find very appealing-actually, there’s alot about him that is appealing, and much to be admired, starting with his unparalleled courage. What little I’ve heard of “today’s music” I haven’t cared for and I haven’t heard enough to have an opinion. Jer, I’m 73, and I quite agree with all you said.
